Stop Trying to Earn Your Salvation | Mark 2:18–22

Are you simply going through the motions, or are you living in the new life Jesus gives?

In this Father’s Day message from Mark 2:18–22, Pastor Jamin continues our journey through the Gospel of Mark by looking at Jesus’ response to a question about fasting. John’s disciples and the Pharisees were fasting, but Jesus’ disciples were not — and Jesus used that moment to reveal something much greater: the bridegroom had come. 

Fasting is not a religious performance to earn God’s favor. Because of Jesus Christ, righteousness is not achieved through ritual — it is received by faith. Jesus is enough. He is the fulfillment of the promises of God, the one who brings new life, and the Savior who calls us to bury the old and live in the new.
